모래위의 발자국~

모래위의 발자국

One night a person had a dream.
She dreamed that she was walking
along the beach with the Lord…
어느 날 밤 한 사람이 꿈을 꾸었습니다.
그녀가 주님과 함께 해변을 걷고 있는 꿈이었습니다.


Across the sky flashed scenes from her life.
For each scene, she noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand:
one belonging to her, and the other to the Lord.
그녀의 생애의 장면들이 하늘 맞은 편에 비춰졌습니다.
매 장면마다 모래 위엔 두 발자국이 찍혀 있었는데;
하나는 주님의 발자국 또 하나는 자신의 것이었습니다.
                        
                  
      
When the last scene of her life flashed before her,
she looked back at the footprints in the sand.
그녀의 생애 마지막 장면들이 비춰졌을 때,
그녀는 모래사장의 발자국들을 돌아봤습니다.


She noticed that so many times
along the path of her life
there was only one set of footprints.
She also noticed that it happened
at the very lowest and saddest times of her life.
긴 세월을 살아 온 그녀 생애 가운데
오직 한 쌍의 발자국 만 보이는 것을 알게되고,
그것은 바로 그녀의 생애가운데
가장 어렵고 슬플 때였음도 알게 됩니다.


This really bothered her and
she questioned the Lord about it:
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that, during the
most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand, why, when I needed you most,
.... you would leave me?"
그것이 몹시 마음에 걸려 그녀는 주께 여쭤봤습니다.
"주님, 주님께서는 제가 주님을 따르기로 결심하면,
항상 저와 함께 동행하시겠다 하셨습니다.
그런데 이제 보니 제 삶에서 가장 어렵고 힘든 시기에는
오직 한 쌍의 발자국밖에 없네요.
제가 주님을 절실히 필요로 했을 때
왜 저를 버리셨는지 이해할 수가 없어요."


The Lord spoke softly and replied:
"My child, My precious little one,
I love you and I would never leave you,
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

주께서 부드럽게 답하여 말씀하시기를;

"나의 소중하고 사랑스런 아이야,
난 너를 사랑하고 또한 너를 결코 버린 적이 없단다.
네가 시험에 빠지고 힘들어 할 때,
오직 한 쌍의 발자국만 보이는 것은

그건 ...내가 너를 등에 업고 간 때문이란다."
